ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE BREST
Alpina joins forces with the Arkea Ultim Challenge-Brest, the first solo round-the-world race on Ultim trimarans. Driven from the outset by the vocation of developing robust sports watches capable of accompanying explorers in the most demanding environments, Alpina is proud to support the most extreme human and technological challenge ever achieved in racing, as Official Timekeeper.
The marine world has been one of Alpina's environments since the 1960s. Indeed, in 1969, the company created the Seastrong 10, featuring the 10 essential characteristics of a diver's watch, and already water-resistant to 200 meters. Subsequently, Alpina extended its watchmaking expertise to yachting and sailing, with its Yachttimer series, notably equipped with a mechanical countdown to calculate the time remaining before the start of a race, or a compass bezel.
In 2023, Alpina returns to competition with the Arkea Ultim Challenge-Brest, a voyage across the oceans that will require determination, investment and rigor on the part of competitors. These are values that Alpina has advocated since its creation, and are also illustrated by its team of mountaineers, athletes and friends of the company.
This is a long-term partnership, not only because it will run until 2026, but also because Alpina will be supporting the next Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe. Considered the queen of single-handed transatlantic races, this race links Saint-Malo in Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, and brings together the largest ocean-racing fleet of all levels on the same starting line.
